# Deposit checks

The **deposit checks API** helps you perform real-time compliance and risk assessment on paper check deposits. It is designed to identify suspicious or high-risk activity by analyzing the deposited check's details against configured rules and risk scenarios, and by performing image-based analysis to detect risks specific to check fraud.

This API currently supports **new deposit check transactions**, enabling you to streamline fraud prevention and compliance workflows.

**Availability**

This API is currently available only in the **US** **Production** and **TEST** environments.

**Core capabilities:**

- **Risk analysis:** Supports all rules and risk scenarios from the regular Transaction Checks API
- **Image control:** Additionally performs advanced controls on the submitted check image to detect risks specific to check fraud
